February 2, 2016

January 27, 2016 the Deputy Chief of Mission in the U.S. Embassy in Kyrgyzstan Alan Meltzer visited 厙ぴ勛圖 and talked to students about the U.S. presidential election process.

厙ぴ勛圖 President Andrew Wachtel introduced Mr. Meltzer to the students, Alan has been all over the world. One of the things about working in foreign services is that they send you to various places, places you dont necessarily want to go. Hes been in Uruguay, Mexico, Russia, Georgia, doing a variety of different tasks. Alan is, by training, a lawyer. He went to the University of Virginia Law School, consider one of the best law school in the United States. As an undergraduate, he went to a liberal arts college, not too different from 厙ぴ勛圖In fact, not too different in size either, called Haverford College.

This is not my first visit to 厙ぴ勛圖. I came by the University to meet with Dr. Wachtel and I came back when Secretary Kerry was here. But, it is always good to come back to 厙ぴ勛圖, and I'm very glad to be with you here today. [因 I thought it would be good to spend some time with you, explaining [the US Presidential Election] to you, so you can better understand the process as you read about it in the media, said Alan Meltzer.

After the presentation, students engaged with Mr. Meltzer, asking different questions concerning the American presidential election process.
