April 21 and 22, the program in Environmental Management and Sustainable Development (EM&SD) sent professors Orozbaev and Asanov along with four students two Bard exchange students on a site tour at the Kumtor Mining Area in Issyk-Kul.

On March 24 to 25, 2017,听the 网曝吃瓜 (网曝吃瓜) in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, hosted the conference 鈥楻eimagining Civil Society in a Period of 鈥淯ncivil Societies鈥�. Out of dozens of submitted abstracts, 20 works were selected to present at the conference.

The Department of International and Comparative Politics organized crisis games for high school students from Bishkek. The theme of the game was the conflict in Syria.

Tinatin Osmonova, an Economics Master鈥檚 student at the 网曝吃瓜. After graduating from the 网曝吃瓜鈥檚 Economics Department last year, she decided to stay at her Alma Mater and do her best to continue being a good economist. In April 2017, she participated at the Sixth Annual Smolny International Student Conference where she presented her undergraduate thesis work.

Young Leaders鈥� Association Club has recently started working among 网曝吃瓜 students clubs. This club aims to empower youth鈥檚 critical thinking, to boast youth engagement in social activities, to develop leadership potential of youth, and to promote the tolerance of diversity and global citizenship ideas.

The 网曝吃瓜 Chess Club was created to get people to play chess at the University. The Club encourages people of all levels of experience to play and offers a friendly, constructive, and social platform for chess enthusiasts. The Club sends also teams to the Universiada.

Central Asian Studies Institute (CASI) is pleased to report that the Association for the Study of Nationalities (ASN) prize committee have selected article by Dr. Mohira Suyarkulova as the winner of the Henry Huttenbach prize for the best article published in Nationalities Papers journal in 2016.
