The members of the Student Intellectual Life CommitteeÌý(SILC) at the ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï (ÍøÆسԹÏ) told about their work to an audience of students. The SILC members gave advice on how to write applications for SILC grants, pointed out common application mistakes, reminded applicants of what is mandatory and important for applying for a SILC grant, and provided information on what grant-winners must provide after returning to ÍøÆسԹÏ.

On March 18, 2016, at 12:00 pm at ÍøÆسԹÏ, there will be a press conference dedicated to the opening of the ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï High School of the Bilimkana Foundation in partnership with the ÍøÆسԹÏ.

The Department of International and Comparative PoliticsÌýof ÍøÆسԹÏÌýannouncesÌýa call for participation in our annualÌýInternational Crisis Game "Crisis in Syria".ÌýThe game is open to any English-speaking student from universities in BishkekÌý(and beyond).

Tanya Efremenko, a graduate of the Anthropology Department of class of 2015, has done several research projects, internships and service projects with organizations like HelpAge International, GIZ, UNESCO and B’Art Contemporary. She is now completing a Master’s Program in Urban Studies in Vienna.

March 2 and 3, 2016, two representatives from the U.S. Department of State in Kabul, Grants Program Specialist Lynn Walroth and Cultural Affairs Assistant Janet Thompson, visited ÍøÆسԹÏ. The goal of their visit was to checkup on existing policies and discuss ideas for the future of the partnership.

Ruslan Rahimov, an ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï faculty member, associate professor, and candidate of historical sciences with a PhD from the School of Advanced Studies in Social Sciences (EHESS - France), recently embarked on a research trip to Mexico.

As Special Agents with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Steve Murphy and Javier Pena, targeted the world’s first narco-terrorist, Pablo Escobar, and the Medellin Cartel. Living and working alongside their Colombian National Police counterparts in Medellin, Colombia.

Anne Pyburn is a visiting professor at ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï from Indiana University (IU) Bloomington. At IU, Pyburn is a professor in the Anthropology department and the Provost’s professor in the English department. In Kyrgyzstan, she has worked with archaeologists and citizens' groups to develop projects for cultural resource management.

On March 4th, 2016, ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï President Andrew Wachtel received an Honorary Professorship from the Kyrgyz National University.ÌýMemorandum of cooperation between universities signed.
